New Patent Regulations came into force in Russia.
As of July 2016, there ceased to be in force the Administrative Regulations which had dealt with applications for inventions from filing to prosecution and grant since 2009. As of August 2016, there came into force new Rules for drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications as well as new Patent Regulations.
The introduction of the new Patent Rules and Regulations has completed the major update of regulations of the Russian PTO (Rospatent) which brought the same into compliance with the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
The new Rules and Regulations are available at Rospatent’s website (in Russian).
It is necessary to note that the new Rules and Regulations contain a number of essential changes that shall be taken into account in all future actions and communications with Rospatent.
