On July 18, 2016, New Rules and Administrative Regulations for registration of computer programs and databases in Russia came into force. The new documents (in Russian) are available at the sites of the FIPS (www.fips.ru) and the Russian Patent and Trademark Office (ROSPATENT – www.rupto.ru).
We welcome the new Rules and Regulations describing in details documents required and procedures involved in registering a computer program or a database with the Russian PTO. It is worth to note that the Regulations set a maximum term for a program or a database registration with issuing a certificate by the Russian PTO as 62 working days from the filing date of an application.
