The subject matter “use” to be fine-tuned

In the currently considered amendments to the Rules and Requirements (Order of the Ministry of Economic Development of 21.02.2023 No. 107), it is proposed to narrow the characterization of the subject matter “use” only to the features characterizing a certain purpose for which the product or process is used. Only these features will be considered for the assessment of patentability. The amendments are aimed at combating “evergreening” strategies.
