EAPO Opens Filing of Industrial Design Applications Under the Hague System

The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) has started accepting international applications for industrial designs under WIPO’s Hague System. Applicants can now file directly through EAPO, in addition to filing through WIPO’s International Bureau.
This provides an additional convenient route to obtain design protection in multiple countries, particularly for applicants from Eurasian Patent Convention member states. It also offers a way to seek protection in Kazakhstan, which is not yet a member of the Hague System. A single application may cover up to 100 industrial designs, with the designated territories selected according to the applicant’s business needs.
