New domain name registration rules have come into force

As of September 1 of this year, a requirement for mandatory identification of domain administrators in the .ru, .рф, and .su zones through the “Gosuslugi” portal (ESIA) has come into effect.

At the same time, updated Domain Name Registration Rules have been published, defining the registration procedure, including:

• requirements for domain names upon registration,
• timeframes for domain name registration and use of domain names, as well as
• grounds, procedure, and timeframes for making a decision on registration or refusal of domain name registration.

In addition, the Rules for the formation and maintenance of registrars' lists and Requirements for registrars have been approved.

The said regulatory documents will remain in effect until September 1, 2032.
