We are glad to announce that the Protocol on Protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention of September 9, 1994 was signed on September 9, 2019. Five of the Contracting States of the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC) have signed the Protocol: Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Russia.

The document enables applicants to use the Eurasian patent system for obtaining legal protection not only for inventions but also for industrial designs.

Once the Protocol is in force, a Eurasian patent for an industrial design can be obtained to be effective in the territory of the Contracting States of the EAPC ratified or joined the Protocol.

We will keep you updated on the matter.
