Novelty Grace Period for Inventions to Increase

The grace period for filing an application for an invention after its prior disclosure is increased from 6 to 12 months, aligning with the majority of foreign jurisdictions.

Amendments to Article 1350 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation have been signed and will enter into force on August 3, 2025.

Of note, the grace period for utility models remains the same (6 months).
