Review of judicial practice of the Supreme Court for 2025

A review of judicial practice of the Supreme Court of Russia No. 2 for 2025 has been published. Section 20 of the Review is devoted to intellectual property issues, where the nuances of a trademark cancellation over an existing trade name are clarified. In particular, it is noted that the emergence of the right to an abbreviated trade name long before filing an application for registration of the disputed designation as a trademark is not sufficient to invalidate the legal protection to the trademark.
