In November 2025, INTERPOL announced a set of new initiatives aimed at reinforcing international cooperation and improving global efforts to combat intellectual property crime. The organization highlighted the growing threat posed by counterfeit goods, illegal software distribution, fake pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and IP violations affecting global supply chains.

According to INTERPOL, the enhanced approach focuses on the following priority areas:

📌 1. Strengthening cross-border cooperation among law-enforcement authorities
The organization plans to deepen real-time information exchange and coordinated actions between national enforcement bodies to disrupt international counterfeit networks more efficiently.

📌 2. Expanded training and capacity-building programs
New training modules for enforcement officers and IP experts will cover digital forensics, online infringement tracking, and investigation techniques for cyber-enabled IP crime.

📌 3. Priority risk sectors
Particular attention will be given to counterfeit pharmaceuticals, medical products, electronic devices, and other goods that pose elevated health and safety risks to consumers.

💡 These developments underscore the increasing global importance of IP protection and the continued need for coordinated international enforcement mechanisms.
