Examination of Use-type Claims to Change in Russia

The order of the Ministry of Economic Development has specified the procedure for examining applications for inventions relating to the subject matter of "use". Now, only the purpose of the product or process must be indicated in the claims, and only the characteristic of the purpose will be taken into account for assessing novelty and inventive step.
The new rules will apply from November 10, 2024.
