Eurasian industrial design system to expand

On July 13, the President of Turkmenistan signed the document "On Accession to the Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention of September 9, 1994". Entry into force is expected not earlier than October 2024.
The Turkmenistan's accession to the Protocol means that the Eurasian design patent will be valid in the territory of all eight EAPO member states, matching the territorial extent of the Eurasian invention patent. In addition, the EAPO will have the opportunity to join the international system for the registration of industrial designs (the Hague Agreement).
