The Patent Law Treaty has entered into force with respect to the EAPO

As of March 17, 2026, the Patent Law Treaty (PLT) has entered into force with respect to the Eurasian Patent Organization.
The purpose of the PLT is to simplify procedures for applicants by establishing, among other things, minimum requirements for patent applications for inventions and for additional patents.
