A major scientific event – International Forum “Polytechnic Week in Saint-Petersburg” – took place in our city from November 14 to 20, 2016 (polytechforum.ru)

Within the frame of the Forum, on November 14 a special seminar devoted to intellectual property (IP) protection was held at the premises of Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University.

During the seminar, a number of presentations were delivered by leading IP experts on such subjects as:
– incentives for creation of IP objects and IP management in a large university of scientific research,
– practical use of novelties in the IP legislation,
– patent search,
– preparation of patent applications,
– foreign filing of Russian inventions,
– strategy building to secure and protect means of individualization.

Our company was represented by Dr. Ivan Kotov, Patent Attorney, who spoke on the subject “Preparing a patent application – what to patent and how?” focusing on the basics of drafting invention and utility model applications so that to effectively protect innovations on Russia. The speech was rich in practical examples and advice, causing a particular interest of young scientists and academics already involved in drafting of patent applications or considering to patent fruits of their scientific work.
